Little Baby Tummy and His Little Tummy Woes
My wife makes really good cinnamon rolls.
I would gladly take a fall for her, take the stake for something that isn’t my fault, and build a homestead with her if it meant she was able to make these cinnamon rolls (and all her baking products) like every day.
Issue with the statement above:
1) I would happily do all these things (no cows) for her because I’m her husband, I love her, and she’s the central most important person in my life.
2) These rolls kill me.
As I get older I’m reminded that I cannot eat whatever I want. I’ve been saying this for years, but recently the reminders are literally constant.
Back in January, I threw up in a movie theatre bathroom because I over ate at Apple Bees.
I thought “Maybe I won’t experience this again for another year or so”.
Nope.
Mother’s Day 2025. My wife made cinnamon rolls for her mother to eat during brunch.
I was stoked for these puppies, but when we showed up at my in-laws it was as if everyone but me was content with waiting hours to eat food.
Now, I’m a type-A guy. I eat breakfast every day from 8-8:30, but I’m totally fine with a brunch as long as I have a lil something something beforehand.
I was waiting for some dang cinnamon rolls, but like I said, the urgency just wasn’t there.
I resorted to berries to lay me over, but I finally broke and dug in.
And I didn’t stop digging in.
I ate 4 cinnamon rolls that day and spent an hour lying in bed awaiting the inevitable hurl. It never came.
I just chalked it up to; yeah I ate too much.
But two nights pass and there’s a final cinnamon roll chilling on our counter. I had to.
Well, now I’m writing this the day after lying on my sister’s couch in my mother and father’s house because I drove into town, dropped off Lottie, went to the office, and immediately turned back around and slept for 2 hours.
It’s been rough bud.
When Will I Learn?
This is a difficult question to answer.
If I’m honest it’s so hard to eat according to my bodi’s tendencies.
